Sara's Cooking Class: Thanksgiving Turkey
Sara's Cooking Class: Thanksgiving Turkey
Sara's Cooking Class takes a real recipe and walks you through it one step at a time, and the Thanksgiving turkey is the longest of them.
Five stages cover the whole meal. Onions, celery, parsley and olives are chopped and an apple is cored and diced; bread is cut and toasted in butter; the stuffing brings that bread together with walnuts, apple, currants and sage; the bird is buttered, stuffed, tied and roasted; and the plate is finished with spinach, currants and orange.
Sara gives the instruction and the tip at each step, which is the format of the whole series: it teaches a sequence rather than testing your reflexes.
How to play Sara's Cooking Class: Thanksgiving Turkey
Chop, toast, stuff, roast, garnish
- Chop the vegetables to the size Sara asks for, and core and dice the apple.
- Cut the bread and toast it in butter on a moderate heat, stirring as it goes.
- Build the stuffing from the toasted bread with the nuts, fruit and seasoning.
- Butter the tray, stuff the bird, tie the legs, brush and season it, then roast it and bring it to the table before garnishing.
Controls
Mouse only. The game is Flash running through an emulator with no touch support, so a phone will show the kitchen but cannot work it. Clicking selects each item and tool.
Tips and strategy
Follow Sara rather than the recipe you know, because the game checks its own sequence and not your cooking. Nothing is timed, so the only failure is a step done out of order. The stuffing stage has the most items in it and is where most people lose their place.
