Cooking Live
Cooking Live
Cooking Live follows Jane, a food blogger who travels to restaurants in trouble and works the kitchen herself. Each place comes with its own story and its own owner, which is unusual for a game of this kind: the levels are episodes rather than a numbered ladder.
The cooking is the ordinary counter loop, orders in and plates out against patience, but the money earned goes back into the room as much as the kitchen, so a restaurant visibly changes across its episode before you move on.
The dishes stay simple on purpose. The variety comes from the places rather than from the recipes, and the places are the reason to keep going.
How to play Cooking Live
Read, cook, serve, reinvest
- Check what the level asks for before starting. Episodes set their own goals rather than all asking for the same thing.
- Start the slowest item first and keep more than one thing going, because the kitchens are built for parallel work.
- Serve as soon as a plate is complete. A finished dish on the pass blocks the station behind it.
- Put the earnings into whichever station you spend the most time waiting on, not the cheapest upgrade offered.
Controls
Click or tap ingredients, pans and customers. It plays on a phone as well as a computer.
Tips and strategy
Treat each episode as its own problem rather than carrying habits between them, since the kitchens change shape and so does the bottleneck. When a level will not pass, the fix is almost always an upgrade rather than faster hands. Reading the goal first saves more time than any amount of speed afterwards.

Frequently asked questions
Is Cooking Live free?
Yes, free in the browser with no account and no payment, on a phone or a computer.
Who is Jane?
The character you play: a food blogger who travels to struggling restaurants and cooks in them. Each episode introduces the place and the people who run it.
Is there a story?
Yes. The levels are grouped into episodes, each set in a different restaurant with its own owner and its own problem, rather than being a single ladder of levels.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It is an HTML5 build, so tapping does everything a mouse does.
