Cooking Festival
Cooking Festival
Cooking Festival is a travelling game. It opens at a pancake shop and works outward to San Francisco, Naples and Berlin, with each city bringing its own kitchen and its own menu rather than a repainted version of the last.
Serving is a tap, which is deliberate: the game came from phones and the interaction is kept to one gesture so the pace can stay high. Coins and stars earned per level are what unlock the next restaurant.
Food Festivals and Tournaments run alongside the main route, and unusual guests turn up at them, the Festival Dragon, a Geisha and a Fluffy Bear among them.
How to play Cooking Festival
Tap, serve, earn, unlock
- Read what the level asks for. The target is a number rather than a survival time.
- Tap the dish to start it and tap again to serve. Several can be cooking at once and the kitchens expect that.
- Keep the queue moving rather than perfecting one order, since the earnings come from volume.
- Spend coins and stars on the next restaurant instead of saving them, because the later cities assume the upgrades.
Controls
Tap or click to cook and to serve. It plays on a phone as well as a computer.
Tips and strategy
Start everything that can cook unattended before touching anything that cannot. The cities change the menu but not the maths, so a station that was the bottleneck in Naples will be the bottleneck in Berlin unless you upgrade it. Tournaments are worth entering for the prizes rather than the ranking.
