Bubble Tea: Halloween

Bubble Tea: Halloween is a maker rather than a game in the scoring sense. Nobody orders anything, nothing is marked, and the drink is finished when you decide it is.

The cup is built in layers. Tea, milk and cream go in, boba and jelly settle at the bottom, and the result can be taken towards a smoothie, a coffee or something frappé-like depending on what you pour.

Then it is decorated, which is where most of the time goes. The liquid can be marbled, foam goes on top, stickers go on the cup, and the straw and the toppings finish it. The background behind the whole thing is yours to change too.

It is the Halloween edition of a pair; the other one is built around Valentine's.

How to play Bubble Tea: Halloween

Fill it, flavour it, decorate it

  • Start with the base: tea, milk or cream, in whatever proportion you like.
  • Drop in the boba and the jelly.
  • Take the flavour where you want it, from a plain tea to something closer to a smoothie or a coffee.
  • Marble the drink and add the foam.
  • Finish with stickers on the cup, a straw and the toppings, and set the background behind it.

Tips and strategy

Decide the colour of the drink before adding the foam, since the foam sits over everything and a muddy base cannot be lifted back out. Keep the stickers to one side of the cup rather than ringing it, which reads better against the marbling. The straw is worth choosing last, when the colours are settled.
