Caillou Chef
Caillou Chef puts the character in an apron behind a small cafe counter, and the menu is two things: coffee and pancakes.
The split between them is what makes it work for young players. The coffee machine fills the cups on its own, so serving a coffee is one tap. The pancakes are the real job: batter goes on the griddle, and the clock has to run red before it can be moved to a plate, topped and served.
Orders appear in speech balloons above the customers, toppings included, and later on the counter grows, with more griddle space, more plates and more toppings to keep track of.
How to play Caillou Chef
Pour, ladle, wait, plate
- Read the balloon above the customer. It names the drink or the dish and the topping.
- Tap a full cup to serve a coffee. The machine fills them without you.
- Ladle batter onto the griddle and wait for the clock to turn red before moving it.
- Move the pancake to a plate, add the topping and serve. Left too long it burns.
Controls
Tap or click the cups, the griddle, the plates and the toppings. Nothing needs a keyboard.
Tips and strategy
Keep a coffee going while a pancake cooks, since the machine needs no attention and the griddle does. Watch the clock rather than the queue: burning is the only way to lose anything here. As the counter grows, use the extra griddle space rather than cooking one at a time.
