Devilish Cooking

Devilish Cooking is two games stacked on top of each other. You pick an angel or a devil, and each round has a cooking half, where you follow a recipe, and a trick half, where you add something the recipe did not ask for.

The cooking is ordinary: a donut means mixing, stirring, shaping the dough and cutting the shapes, and there is a bar at the top of the screen to fill before the round ends. The trick is where the game earns its name, because it only works while your rival is looking elsewhere.

Getting caught ends the round, so the second half is a judgement about timing rather than a second set of steps to learn.

How to play Devilish Cooking

Cook the recipe, then take the chance

  • Follow the recipe steps in order and keep the bar at the top filling. Running out of time means starting the round again.
  • Watch your rival rather than your own hands. The trick is only available when they are not looking.
  • Click and hold to add the extra, and let go before they turn back. Being seen ends the round outright.
  • Finish the dish properly either way, because the recipe is still scored.

Controls

Mouse only. This is Flash through an emulator with no touch support, so a phone will show the kitchen but cannot work it.

Tips and strategy

Do the recipe honestly first and treat the trick as a bonus you take only when the opening is obvious, since being caught costs the whole round and the recipe alone still scores. Stars come in three tiers and the higher ones open more recipes, so a clean round beats a risky one early on.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play Devilish Cooking on a phone?

What is the trick part?

A second half of each round where you add something to the dish that the recipe did not call for, which only works while your rival is looking away.

What happens if I get caught?

The round ends immediately, so the safe play is to finish the recipe and take the chance only when it is clearly there.

Is it free?
