Hamburger Stack
Hamburger Stack
Hamburger Stack is a puzzle rather than a cooking game, and the puzzle is about arrangement. Nothing is cooked, nothing is timed, and the burger is finished when every layer is where it belongs.
The pieces move by sliding. Cheese, onion, lettuce and tomato each have to be pushed into position, and because a move pushes rather than places, the order you make them in decides whether the next one is possible. That is the whole game, and it is closer to a sliding block puzzle than to a kitchen.
The money comes from finished burgers, and it buys ingredients that were not available before, which is what keeps the arrangements changing rather than the difficulty alone.
How to play Hamburger Stack
Plan the move, then slide
- Look at the burger you are building and where each layer has to end up.
- Slide an ingredient to move it, remembering that it pushes rather than lifts.
- Work out the order before you start: a layer placed early can block the one after it.
- Finish the burger for the customer and collect the money.
- Spend it on ingredients you have not had yet.
Controls
Drag with the mouse, or swipe on a touch screen. Every move is one slide.
Tips and strategy
Decide the whole sequence before the first slide, because a layer in the wrong lane cannot be lifted out, only pushed, and that is how a board gets stuck. Work from the bun outwards rather than filling the middle first. Buy the new ingredients as they come up, since the later arrangements assume you have them.

Frequently asked questions
Is Hamburger Stack a cooking game?
Not really. Nothing is cooked: it is a sliding puzzle about getting each ingredient into the right place.
Is it timed?
No source describes a clock. The challenge is the arrangement rather than the pace.
What do you earn money for?
New ingredients, which change what the arrangements look like rather than simply making them harder.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, swiping does what dragging does.
